SYNOPSIS:
The year is 20XX.
Planet Earth has never been safer. The many conflicts waged between mankind’s splintered factions have ceased, their efforts turned instead to the slaying of monsters. The Earth Defense Force – aided by its army of physically enhanced mutant humans – is quick to repel or destroy any giant beast that dares threaten a city. And the mightiest monster of them all – Godzilla – has been removed from play, sealed in an icy tomb, his vengeful wrath finally subdued…
But Earth’s complacent paradigm is about to shift.
Out of nowhere, a wave of simultaneous monster attacks plagues the great cities of the world. And then, almost as suddenly they appeared, the creatures vanish. The culprits: a race of visiting extraterrestrials who introduce themselves as Xiliens. At first, the visitors are friendly, promising a fruitful future of intergalactic camaraderie. But when the facade of peaceful intention finally falls, humanity finds itself staring down the barrel of annihilation and enslavement.
As cities burn and monsters rise, the last chance for hope rests in the hands of a ragtag group of survivors: a tough-as-nails captain, a willful biologist, a traitorous warrior, and a compassionate mutant with powers he has yet to fully understand. Together, they embark on the legendary flying warship Gotengo for one desperate, ultimate, insane mission: to free the only force on Earth that might stand a chance against the invaders and their monster army.
The target: Godzilla.
The mission: the survival of the human race.
