Hey, everyone! Happy Halloween!
It’s no secret that this is my favorite time of year. there’s a certain chill in the air, and the nights are filled with the promise of monsters. Okay, I know that’s a bit dramatic, but cut me some slack. It’s Halloween, and I’m excited!
And that’s not all I’m excited about. This Halloween, I made it my mission to resurrect an old GNP favorite and continue a story that’s been left dormant for far too long…
In late September, I put out a call to GNP readers to see if there was interest in bringing back one of the project’s oldest short stories: ”Casefile: Matango: The Testimony of Kenji Murai”. Begun in 2018 and shelved since early 2019, the story has been on hiatus for nearly three years, and I thought that this October was the perfect time to bring it back. Readers agreed, and so, after a heck of a break, I’m happy to say that ”Casefile: Matango” is back with a brand new installment, just in time for Halloween!
In Part 6, the castaways find themselves stalked by a mysterious, mushroomy visitor during a stormy night. It’s a tense sequence in the film, and I hope I did it justice with my adaptation!
So settle in, turn down the lights, and follow this link to read ”Casefile: Matango” – Part 6. I hope you enjoy it, and that you have a fun and safe Halloween.
And don’t worry, it won’t be another three years before those pesky mushroom people return to the GODZILLA NOVELIZATION PROJECT…
