Hey, everyone! Merry Christmas!
Wow, it’s hard to believe that 2020 is almost over. And as I’m sure you’ll all agree, its passing will not be mourned. This was truly an unprecedented year, full of unbelievable challenges and an overwhelming feeling of hopelessness. But as December draws to a close, I dearly hope that every one of you reading this has found the time to enjoy the holidays in whatever ways you possibly could. With any luck, you’ve been able to spend time with family, relax, and smile. The holiday season has always been a great time of year for seeking positivity and remembering that, no matter how hard things are, you are loved. And this year, we all need to feel that more than ever.
While this year may have been unprecedentedly difficult, it was also full of many bright spots. For my part, I saw a surge of creativity from the Godzilla fan community that I’d never seen before. Despite the distances between us, fans found ways to get together and watch movies, host conventions, and share their art, podcasts, writing, and more with fellow kaiju enthusiasts. We entertained each other, laughed with each other, and kept each other sane. It was a beautiful thing to see, and I hope to see it continue long after the current situation has passed.
Why am I mentioning all of this? Well, because I was lucky enough to be a part of this surge of positivity and long-distance connection throughout the year. More GNP readers have reached out to tell me how much they’ve enjoyed the project this year than in any previous year since the project launched. I’ve seen so much support for this endeavor, and heard so many lovely things from all of you, that even in these difficult times, I can’t help but feel incredibly, deeply blessed.
Alright, that’s enough of the mushy stuff. To sum up, I’ll just say this: this year may have been difficult, but what I’ll always remember about 2020 is all of you; your support, your kind words, and your all-around awesomeness.
And so, on this very special Christmas day, I have a little gift for all of you. It may not be a lot, but I hope it’ll lift a few spirits.
One of the GNP books that I get the most requests to continue writing is my adaptation of 1971’s Godzilla vs. Hedorah. Ever since I first published Chapter 1 way back in 2018, this book has been a favorite among readers, and one that I get asked about frequently. It’s been a while since I’ve returned to researching/writing this particular adaptation, but I’m happy to announce that, as of today, the Hedorah drought is officially over!
The GNP is proud to present, at long last, Godzilla vs. Hedorah: Chapter 5!
Thank you all for being such amazing readers, G-fans, and people. I couldn’t be more grateful for all the kindness and support you’ve shown me, and as 2020 finally enters the realm of past tense, I hope I can continue to be worthy of that support.
Happy reading, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good (and safe) night!
