UPDATE #74 (5/1/21): GNP vs. SPR!

Happy May, readers!

This is a short little update (and a slightly delayed one, at that), but nevertheless, here it is!

I don’t often dedicate main updates to things like convention or podcast appearances, but in this particular case, I figured I’d bend my rule a little bit as a way of showing some much-deserved support to a podcast I recently appeared on as a guest.

The podcast in question is a video game-themed show called Some Patches Required, or SPR for short. The show is hosted by two awesome guys named Zak Frank and Aaron DiManna, and if the last name of that second dude sounds familiar, that’s because he’s my honest-to-goodness brother! When they asked me to come onboard for an episode discussing video games based on licensed IPs (and offered me the chance to use Godzilla as an example), I naturally jumped at the chance.

The end result is a pretty darn fun episode, and a great trip down memory lane that I was thrilled to be a part of. Our topics include Godzilla (natch), Jurassic Park, weird NES titles, Shrek, Home Improvement, and… The Emperor’s New Groove? It all makes sense when you listen, trust me.

The episode also features a surprise cameo from my living-room window. Oops.

Appearing on this episode was a lot of fun, and SPR is an all-around fantastic show that anyone who enjoys video-game culture should definitely make a habit of listening to. If you’d like to check the episode out, follow this link and get listenin’! (Do be aware, though, that this episode contains explicit content and a light sprinkling of naughty language. The GNP is a family-friendly project and website, so if you’re a parent, please be advised that this podcast might not be appropriate for young G-Fans.)

While I’m here, there was one more thing I wanted to mention. I’ve been lucky enough to make a LOT of podcast appearances over the last couple of years, which has given me the fantastic opportunity to connect with other creative kaiju fans and celebrate the monsters we all love. If listening to my voice pontificate on the intricacies and awesome aspects of creature features sounds like your cup of tea, all of my podcast appearances are archived and linked on this site’s Press & Appearances page. Give some of them a listen if you’re so inclined, and if you do, let me know if you enjoyed them!

That’s all for now, but I’ll be back soon with another update. I’ve got something really, really cool planned for May, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you!

Until then, take care, everyone!
